According to CME's "FedWatch" data, the probability of a 25 basis point rate cut by the Fed in September is currently at 87.2% before the initial jobless claims announcement, while the probability of rates staying unchanged is 12.8%.
The probability of the Fed keeping rates unchanged until October is 6.2%, with a 49% probability of a cumulative 25 basis point rate cut and a 44.7% probability of a cumulative 50 basis point rate cut.
The upcoming two FOMC meeting dates for the Fed are September 17th and October 29th.
